I Can't Believe It!

According to The Joplin Globe, Thursday, February 2, 2006, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) has given Renewable Environmental Solutions, LLC (RES) permission to resume operations on a "conditional basis" through February 15, 2006. MDNR Director, Doyle Childers was quoted as saying, "Allowing RES to operate under these conditions will enable the company to further evaluate its new air-pollution-control systems and determine if all odors can be totally eliminated." http://www.dnr.mo.gov/newsrel/nr06_040.htm

Until RES has paid their $60,000+ in fines and penalties for previous air polution violations, I can't believe that they are allowed to start operations, again. Oh, and just in case Director Childers wasn't in Carthage Thursday morning, it smelled!

What happened to the 60-day revocation of RES' Air Discharge Permit?
What happened to the Cease and Desist Order?
What happened to the lawsuit, State of Missouri vs. RES, seeking Preliminary and Permanant Injunction and Civil penalties?
Hello?

whats not to believe? RES has not had a violation since july of 2005.
what i am finding hard to believe is that RES was shutdown to start with.what about other industries in carthage?i know of at least three other plants in the bottoms that produce odor.a plant on central smells like burnt oil almost every day.if you travel a little further west on central you may smell sewage.follow a garbage truck south on garrison.
if zero odor is the goal their will be NO industry in carthage, because to hold one plant to that standard you must hold everyone to the same standard.
think about it.no wire, turkey, cheese,or salad dressing.no pizza, burgers, donuts,or mexican food.what about paint fumes from a body shop or fresh asphalt on the city street?
zero odor is not only unrealistic, but it is also impossable in an industry.any industry.if carthage starts expecting industrial companies to achieve these unattainable standards we will become known for being even more new business unfriendly than we already are.
by the way,how much does a gallon of tourism sell for?
