So They Want to Talk Now?

In order to comply with a September 5th deadline, RES attorneys have requested a meeting with representatives of Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR). The Joplin Globe, Thursday, September 1, 2005, reported that a meeting had been set for September 15. The article states that RES has been 'shut down', except for two or three days, for about the last three weeks for maintenance and repairs. As I understand it, the purpose of the meeting is to 'negotiate' the six violations that have been cited by MDNR and the pending fines. RES could be required to pay as much as $60,000 in penalities to the Jasper County school fund. I say, Let Them Pay!
