Brian Appel - Developer of Technology or Responsible Party?
Brian Apple is credited with developing the technology being used at RES. Appel has assured Carthage Mayor Kenneth Johnson that he "intends to follow through on the promises he made" for an odor-free operation. (The Joplin Globe, Saturday, May 7, 2005). What do you think? Has he been overpaid, or is he the one responsible for the smell?
1. Enhanced Thermal Oxidizer
2. Upgrade to Higher Efficiency Scrubber
3. Will heat exhaust gases to 1,400 degrees, burning up the organic materials that are the cause of odors.
4. Cost $50,000
5. To be installed between May 9 and May 22, 2005
6. RES shall have a 10-day 'upset' period in which to operate the thermal oxidizer.
7. No More Smells....priceless!
